In Phase 2, we will expand the network of computational modeling partners to include computational methods and approaches that complement those of GNS Healthcare and MetaCell and create new open-source modeling tools.
Quantification
We will collect data from a captured cohort of 1,000 people with MS whose disease has been assessed using a patient powered network platform (PatientsLikeMe) to capture real-time, real-world health outcomes; biosensor technologies; and extensive longitudinal biomarker and clinical data (Figure 4).
Computation
We will build a constellation of models at different scales using an expanded array of analytics approaches, additional computational partners, and new data tools.
Validation
We will test and validate our MS models against clinical and basic science constructs.
Education and dissemination
We will disseminate models to the clinical community and pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry through multiple channels, including the Orion Bionetworks website, ACP’s MS Discovery Forum Website and the Human Brain Program.
Cooperation
We will expand our cooperative model and invite new partners–including pharmaceutical and technology companies–to create a more robust research ecosystem.
